New playground

The playground is finally up. The order was placed a month ago and we were waiting anxiously for the company to take it out from the port. Before that, the outdoor safety tiles had to be laid and that too was a wait for over a month for it to reach us from Malaysia. Finally, things are coming together.

We're open ... in a week

The Happy Schoolhouse is ready to accept students on Mon 3 Oct 2011. We have not opened our doors as we wanted most, if not all things to be in place before we accept new students. Now that most things are ready, we have just the finishing touches to complete next week. New banners were up today ... thank goodness the weather held up long enough for us to complete the job. We're in business

The Education Department officers came to inspect our school today and gave us the green light to proceed. This is indeed a happy day for us. Now we can continue with our plans and we have our name approved : "Mam Non Hanh Phuc" in Vietnamese, "The Happy Schoolhouse" in English.
