Open House 2012

The Happy Schoolhouse will be organising our first Open House on Sunday 8 Apr 2012. The objective of this Open House is to introduce our school to parents who do not know us or have not heard about us. We have engaged the circus to come up with 2 acts for us. There'll be fun fair games and prizes as well to make sure that everyone has a good time visiting THS.

Froggy Pen Holder

So what's our next creative craft project? FROGS!!! A lovely frog pen holder for daddy's or mummy's office. I would love to have one made by my kid ... sadly mine have all grown up and are no longer doing such craft for their parents. Please do have a look at the kindergarten class blogs for more photos.

J for Jellyfish

It's "Jellyfish" craft week as we learn the Letter "J". This is one of the best creatures for a craft activity as there can be so many creative ways to go about making a jellyfish. Here's one way, with extra long tentacles :

Happy International Women's Day

Women play an important role in family, society and business in Vietnam. It comes as no surprise that this day is celebrated widely in Vietnam. THS wishes all female staff, mothers, sisters and female family members a very happy International Women's Day. Please see our class blogs on what our children have done for this special day. Even our babies made cards for their mummies.

Friday Special

Friday Special, as the name implies, is a special activity organized on Friday mornings for our students. These specials are activities that are different from the rest of the week's programmes and are always fun for our kids. We also have out-of-school field trips to add variety to the activities.

Welcome back

We welcome our Happy family of students, parents and family back to school after the Tet holidays. We hope that all of you have had a good holiday and have refreshed yourselves for the second half of the school year. Our next celebration will be Valentine's Day.

Tet Celebrations (2012)

THS has been having quite a few concerts in school recently - from the Official Opening to Teachers' Day to Christmas. We thought it would be good to have a change and go to the indoor playground instead. We were proven right as excited children and staff couldn't wait to get out of school to go the playground. This was our first out-of-school trip and naturally everyone was pumped up for action.

The Principal and staff of THS wish all parents and children a very happy Tet holiday. Please be reminded that classes will resume on Wed 1 Feb 2012.

Parent-Child Quality Time

THS organized a lantern-making session for Tet mainly to create an opportunity for parents to spend quality with their children. The main focus was the time and not the lantern. Well, Friday turned out to be a busy day for parents but the kids enjoyed making red-packet lanterns to bring home for Tet.

Tet is coming

Tet is coming soon. Everyone is excited about this time of the year. We will have a lantern-making activity on Fri 13 Jan 2012 where parents are invited to spend some time with their children to make a lantern for Tet. Our kids will also be going to the ABC Indoor Playground to celebrate Tet on 18 Jan 2012 - this is our very first trip out of school.

Please note that school will be closed from 19 to 31 Jan 2012. Classes will resume on Wed 1 Feb 2012.

Christmas Celebrations 2011

Our first Christmas celebration ... and power has to be cut!!! Nevertheless, we continued with our celebrations and games, and waited keenly in anticipation of a visit by Father Christmas. Santa arrived on time and gave out presents (bought by parents) to all our excited kids. We concluded the celebrations with a special lunch for our children.

Thank you teachers and staff for working out the details and decorations for our celebrations. And a very merry Christmas to all of you and your families and to all our students, parents and families too.

Teachers' Day 2011

This is our first Teachers' Day celebration at THS. The management would like to wish all teachers a very Happy Teachers' Day. We had a good time celebrating this special day with games and songs this afternoon. Please see the class blogs for more photos.
